Victoria: Marketplace and 'Little Ben'
Tea Factory - Pineapple Studio
'Cap Lazare' nature reserve
Enjoy a tour of the colourful and vibrant marketplace in Victoria, where the air is filled with delightful hints of fresh fish and local spices, marking the first stop on your journey to the South of Mahé. A short walk will then bring you to a replica of Little Ben in London (itself a small replica of Big Ben), a national monument set up in 1903 as a memorial to Queen Victoria.
Moving on from the bustling little town, the tour will bring you to the cool and misty 'Mission Lodge', the site of an ancient boarding school for slave children. Spectacular views of lush mountain slopes and the pristine ocean can be enjoyed from this hilltop.
A visit to a tea plantation follows, where you can view a variety of special teas sold in the tea tavern. Your next stop is 'Pineapple Studio', where local craftsmen can be seen producing various works of art, before you arrive at the 'Cap Lazare' nature reserve. Here, you can marvel at the colourful marine life and tortoises whilst delighting in a mouth-watering Creole buffet. The afternoon is then yours to enjoy the beautiful grounds of this exceptional reserve, famous for its large population of giant tortoises and for the wonders of its underwater world.
