How much does a Seychelles holiday cost?
Most people think that a holiday to the Seychelles has to be expensive, but that’s not always the case. A 14-day trip, including flights, transfers, and accommodation starts from just €1600 per person. The Seychelles are warm all year round, with an average temperature between 26 and 32 degrees each day. Thanks to its proximity to the equator, the weather is consistent all year round and is great for a holiday all throughout the year.

Which Seychelles islands should I visit?
To decide which Seychelles islands you would like to visit, you should first determine the length of your holiday so that you can estimate how many islands are possible (see below). If you are visiting Seychelles for the first time, you should not miss the three main islands: Mahé, Praslin and La Digue. However, there are many other islands that might be interesting for you. In the section islands you will find more information about each island.
How many days should you plan for a Seychelles holiday?
A classic Seychelles holiday lasts between 10 and 14 days. This duration means that you have enough time to visit three different Seychelles islands to get to know their own individual beauty and tempos. If you want to see more than three islands during your stay then you should plan a 3-week holiday.
How many Seychelles islands should I pay a visit to?
- Those who are staying in the Seychelles for just 7 days will generally keep their stay to just one island (Mahé or Praslin), as that’s most practical for such a short stay. From there, you can also go on day trips with the ferry to other islands, or tours around multiple islands.
- Anyone looking to spend 10 days in the Seychelles can visit two islands as part of an island-hopping trip (e.g. Mahé and Praslin). A third island can then be visited as part of a day trip.
- If you stay two weeks then you could visit three islands if you wanted to (e.g. Mahé, Praslin and La Digue). This way, you can get to know the three main islands of the Seychelles while also having time for activities and relaxation as well. A combination of one or two main islands and another smaller island is also possible.
- Finally, if you choose to stay three weeks in the Seychelles then you can plan to visit 4 islands. Usually, this would consist of the three main islands and one more. Each island has its own character and can be discovered easily in such a long amount of time.
Why should you visit multiple Seychelles islands?
The Seychelles offer 115 different islands, making them the perfect island-hopping destination. Each of the islands is beautiful in its own way, and it’s well worth visiting them. Pay a visit to multiple islands during one trip and get to see granite islands with their impressive boulders, as well as coral islands, where the beaches stretch the whole way around the island. The main islands in the Seychelles (Mahé, Praslin and La Digue), as well as a few others (Cerf, Silhouette, Felicité, Saint Anne, Round, etc.), are located within 1 hours’ boat ride of each other, meaning that inter-island transfers are fast and you don’t spend time travelling around. Boat trips are also impressive with their views of the water and the islands, so you don’t miss out on any holiday even as you travel. How do I get to the different islands and how can I get around?
All three main islands are connected via ferry transfers. There is a ferry between Mahé and Praslin multiple times per day that takes less than an hour. Alternatively, you can take a propellor plane; this takes just 15 minutes and, assuming there are no clouds, gives you a stunning view from above of the Seychelles.
Between Praslin and La Digue, there is also a ferry service; this one takes around 20 minutes. Some other Seychelles islands are reachable by boat (e.g. Silhouette, Round, and Felicité), usually by using a resort’s boat. Helicopter transfers are also possible, but much more expensive than boat transfers.
Mahé and Praslin are best explored by bus or rental car. La Digue, on the other hand, has bikes as its main means of transportation for locals and tourists alike.

Two-week example itinerary for a Seychelles holiday
Here is an idea of what you could do during a two-week holiday in the Seychelles. This way, you can get to know the islands of the Indian Ocean and their best attractions, and not miss out on the best parts of the country.
- Day 1: Arrival in the Seychelles and transfer to Praslin. The international airport is located on the largest island of the Seychelles, Mahé. From here, you travel by plane or boat (15 minutes and 1 hour respectively) to Praslin.
- Day 2: Relax after your long journey on the Cote d’Or, Praslin’s most beautiful beach.
- Day 3: Discover the colourful island of Praslin and visit the UNESCO World Heritage Vallée de Mai nature reserve. Here, you can find the endemic Coco de Mer palm tree, whose fruit is well-known across the world for its unique shape. Alternatively, you can visit the equally-beautiful Fond Ferdinand nature park. Drive to the world-famous beach of Anse Lazio and enjoy a spectacular sunset view there in the late afternoon.
- Day 4: Go on a day trip to the neighbouring island of Curieuse, where more than 200 giant tortoises live freely. On the way, you will stop over at St. Pierre, one of the Seychelles’ snorkelling hotspots.
- Day 5: Go to the most beautiful beach on Praslin, Anse Georgette. In order to get to the beach, you have to contact the Constance Lemuria Hotel (2 - 3 weeks in advance), as access to the beach requires crossing the hotel estate. In the evening, you will travel across to La Digue (15 minutes)
- Day 6: On the stunning island of La Digue, tourists and locals all get around by bike. Rent one at the harbour at and start your stay on the island by going to Grand Anse beach. From here, you can also take a short walk to Petite Anse and Anse Cocos.
- Day 7: Visit the L’Union Estate, a vanilla and cinnamon plantation. From here, you can get to the most-photographed beach in the world, Anse Source d’Argent. Enjoy its beauty and sip on a fruit juice at the beach bar.
- Day 8: Take one of the numerous tours that are possible on La Digue. From hiking tours on granite boulders, helicopter trips, to snorkelling tours, everything is possible here!
- Day 9: Relax on Anse Severe or take a bike trip across the island before the trip back to the main island of Mahé (1.5 hours by boat).
- Day 10: Discover the capital of the Seychelles, Victoria. The Sir Selwyn Selwyn Clarke Market, the Hindu Temple, and the buildings around the market are all worth a visit.
- Day 11: Take your rental car to the south of Mahé and discover the beautiful beaches of Anse Takamaka, Anse Royale, and Anse Forbans. You can visit these beaches all day long.
- Day 12: Go on a hiking tour on Mahé. We can highly recommend the hiking tour from Bel Ombre to Anse Major (around 2 hours). You can then take a taxi boat back from the beach.
- Day 13: Relax at the end of your holiday on your favourite beach and look back on your holiday. Why not put on some headphones and listen to Patrick Victor’s “Going Back to the Seychelles” at the same time?
