Description:

Anse la Blague is located in the south-east of Praslin, on the same stretch of coast as Grande and Petite Anse. Although the beach is protected by a coral reef, at high tide the water can be quite deep, and the currents are much stronger than at low tide. Conversely, at low tide, the water is very shallow and much calmer. This calm atmosphere carries over to the surrounding area, which is away from the busier spots on the island, meaning that visitors to Anse la Blague can find a quiet spot to relax and feel secluded.

Getting to the beach is simple. There are some small guesthouses nearby, at the Grand Anse end of the beach, so patrons of these hotels can simply walk to the beach. Besides that, there is a road nearby, where holidaymakers can park their rental cars, or there is a bus stop just up the coast at Grande Anse, ensuring easy-access by a variety of means.

As mentioned, the water can be deep at high tide, and the currents make swimming or snorkelling a relatively dangerous affair at this time. At low tide, however, both of these are much easier and safer, thanks to the shallow water and coral reef protection. Besides that, the sand here is a beautiful white, while the ocean is a gorgeous turquoise colour, so the scenery almost merits a visit by itself. There are also a few abandoned estates and an old church nearby, adding to the intrigue of the region.

This secluded beach offers plenty that will appeal to a whole range of Seychelles holidaymakers. The beach offers beautiful scenery, as well as views of the islands of Grande and Petite Soeur, ensuring a pleasant atmosphere, while the water is shallow enough at low tide to encourage bathing and snorkelling. Whatever your tastes, you’ll find something appealing about Anse la Blague.

Not your typical traditional creole cuisine, but a lighter interpretation.
