Very large structure renovated some ha ha. We see that it is not new but objectively it is managed in a very approximate way, very very dirty hall due to sea salinity very close but surely incapacity and carelessness of the too evident personnel. Booked standard room not seen because it moved immediately to superior garden view, this looked like a double box in length with very low ceiling, sad bathroom, poorly designed and malfunctioning. Add also non-functioning shower drain, non-working lights, persistent smell of mold, noisy air conditioner and fixed dehumidifier always on annoying and you will have a complete picture of the room. After several reports there was the possibility of changing rooms and we accepted: very large mezzanine floor with a nice balcony but the usual known problems with mold smell and very poor cleaning. Very poor buffet dinner service with little attention and cleanliness (the fact of being open also to outsiders further undermines everything), lack of competence on the part of the dining room staff. After the reports to the manager straightened up a little the service (we were followed by expert waiters and not by the various guys on stage), better attention in our comparisons but overall not enough structure in the quality / price ratio also in relation to the previous structures in which we stayed during the holiday. Overall, a very nice facility on a beautiful beach with a good spot for snorkeling. The room was nice and clean and with a very good air conditioning - in this hotel we could sleep well every night, which in the other hotels was rather difficult. There were enough beach chairs on the beach and at the pool, the pool towels were free to take away outside the hotel. The service was great - unobtrusive and professional. The breakfast was very high quality. Only the restaurants - all - were very expensive. A buffet restaurant with 40 € pp and two theme restaurants with 60 € pp I think over the top, fortunately you could in the bar à la carte at reasonable prices food - the food was very delicious. In addition, in front of the hotel in the immediate vicinity there is a cafe and a takeaway. The drinks were unfortunately also expensive and there were no alternatives - a small beer for 6.5 € is already violent. We did not use the spa area because of the prices - a massage for 100 €, no offers, even if you chose several treatments. The price policy of the hotel was a bit wrong - you hardly saw people in the theme restaurants and in the spa. Wonderful place to stay, we were upgraded from the standard room to a garden view room upon arrival. (The standard rooms are from the location but also not recommended, we were very glad about the upgrade). Very well-kept area, excellent food, very friendly staff. Unfortunately we did not have so much luck in the resort AVANI. The arrival and the reception were very friendly but when we got our room we were less happy. We booked our honeymoon (which we had indicated) and paid the normal price for a standard room. We got the room for "limited" people. It was wheelchair suitable. In principle this was not a problem but we had looked forward to the bath and had only a shower, which had neither a shelf for the shampoo bottles nor a shower curtain or a separation. The entire bathroom had no possibility to turn off his utensils and hang a towel. In addition, the room was right by the pool, which you noticed in the noise level. We decided to contact reception and express our request to get a new room. That also worked fine. The new room was perfectly fine except for the patio door did not close properly. The service in the hotel was always hard-working but there were too few service staff for the guests available. At breakfast there were usually no ready-laid tables, in the evening we took care of ourselves for a drink order in the restaurant. The few staff, the on-site, were nevertheless effortless but simply overwhelmed. On Saturday it was on the program that there will be a party. We were looking forward to it but little was informed. What turned out later .... it was a private party. In addition the bar and the lobby was closed off and for the hotel guests no longer available. This celebration went on for 2 days. Unfortunately, we found that less beautiful. The food in the hotel was delicious. The hotel area was very nice. The so-called toolbar did not exist anymore. This hotel was by far the worst accomodation in our entire Seychelles trip. Nothing worked out right there. The room smelled rotten, moldy, musty, after which we at least after one night another could relate, that did not have the problem. The problem with the high humidity in certain room categories seemed to be well known to the staff. Then we got caught in the hotel garden the silkworm caterpillar, whereupon the staff at the front desk did nothing, neither the caterpillars, which were clearly visible on 2 certain trees to smoke out nor provide us with ointment, etc. Only the bar boss, who was flown in by the management from Dubai, to combat or improve certain abuses has listened to us very attentive and everything in the way to our stay not in the complete disaster end (great Type). Very sad. The atmosphere of the hotel is like eating in a cafeteria / canteen (just a big, loud, uncomfortable hall). On our last night, in the same room as our dinner, a big congress was held. We did not know where to go with us, as the bar was busy and no evening program was possible for us. Overall, the staff has never managed to eliminate the traces of the previous evening on the tables. The staff seemed overwhelmed. We had booked half board, in their system was only breakfast in it. We pointed out the mistake to the staff the first night, they did not get it changed until the last night. We were allowed to discuss with the staff every night why we did not sign the bill. The only good thing about the hotel is, the small beach area on the right side, which invites you to snorkel incl. There are many stones that brake the surf. Otherwise we can recommend the hotel, as it is currently not recommended. Too many exciters. There is no heavenly atmosphere, especially not to La Digue! The last stop of our trip, the Hotel Avani Barbarons. I asked Seyvillas that we get a nice standard room with rain shower and separate beds. We got. Wonderful! Great room. Good beds. Screens separate bathroom from the bedroom. All staff super friendly. The food was very good. The location of the hotel was great, a very long beach, ideal for a walk. Snorkeling was also very good. On the last day I made a catamaran trip to the Ste. Anne Marine National Park (booked through our very friendly and competent caretaker Robert). The overcast weather continued on this day and it was a sensational experience to glide through the Marine National Park with this huge Oplezir catamaran. Highly recommended. In advance: The resort was very good! Staff: When we arrived there was no check-in time, so the rooms were not ready. The staff was very hard to provide at least one of the two rooms as quickly as possible, which worked out well. During the entire stay we had only good experience with the staff - all very friendly and courteous, no matter if the service at the food or room service! We had a small breakdown with the rental car (light burned overnight -> empty battery the next morning) - 8 people have helped to fix the problem, stress-free but goal-oriented, just great! Room / area: Nice well-kept area with appealing rooms - we had two on the ground floor with terrace and connecting door, right near the sea, so wonderful! In the rooms the reception seems to be a little bit accommodated, because we had booked 1x sea view and 1x garden view - finally we had 2x sea view - very fine! If there is anything to complain about, then at most the fact that we sometimes had the impression that the rooms are a little 'damp', but that is near the sea and in persistently high humidity humorous. It would have been fine if there had been a device on the terrace on which you can dry wet bathing utensils (apart from the armchairs, which are not really intended for this purpose). Meals: We had booked only breakfast in advance, then we decided on site in the evening to eat in the hotel - everything was uncomplicated possible with really good price-performance ratio. The buffet in the main restaurant as well as the snacks (burger / pizza) in the bar and the a la carte restaurant offered really good quality. In sum, very varied. The breakfast buffet was very extensive and attractive, you also tried a bit of variety and not every day the same offer. Hotel beach: The hotel beach is wonderful! Quiet, sparsely populated (most of the hotel guests stay by the pool anyway !? and the AVANI is the only hotel on this beach), incredibly spacious and invites to long beach walks. The northern section is designed as a beautiful swimming and snorkeling bay - there are already many great underwater creatures to discover! On the whole length of the beach there's natural shade, which we always appreciate! Surrounding: What we (although well prepared and informed) did not know was that practically on the area of ​​the hotel (but you have to go through the main entrance and then left about 100m) is an intact mangrove forest - a wonderful experience, this at low tide (or flood) to explore: Mudskippers, various crab species in different colors and sizes, birds, etc. and right next to the luxury hotel.
