Description:
The stand-out feature of the Acajou Beach Resort, which was newly-renovated in 2014, is its stunning architecture. Surrounded by a beautiful tropical garden, the wooden villas of the hotel are built from South African mahogany directly onto a large section of the beautiful Cote d’Or beach. This wooden architecture also gives the hotel its name. There are also some new buildings, set up in a modern, bright style with white decoration that reflects the sand the Seychelles is famous for. Following the 2014 renovation, the hotel offers a greater variety of rooms, a brand new infinity pool, the Starfish pool bar, a restaurant, and a number of other small improvements and additions. Despite these changes, the hotel has, thankfully, managed to maintain its authentic Creole charm. The pool area, which also includes a children’s pool, is located just behind the beach, and offers a spectacular view of the ocean and the nearby islands of Chauve Souris, St. Pierre, as well as the Curieuse Marine Park, giving guests plenty to enjoy.
Thanks to their skillful design, most of the hotel’s balconies offer a particularly beautiful view of the turquoise-coloured ocean, which achieves this stunning colour thanks to its shallow depth and pure-white sand under the water. The elevated view from the balconies of the villas makes it possible to enjoy truly breathtaking moments each day of your stay.
The Standard and Superior rooms are located in houses to the left and right of the main building, and offer a view of the garden, as well as the ocean, and are built on stilts - a traditional building method in the Seychelles. The rooms therefore enjoy excellent air-circulation, removing the need for constant air-conditioning use. The main building also has its own large terrace where guests can relax outside. The newly-built Deluxe living-units can be found a little closer to the sea, so their terraces are located just a few metres from the fine white sand of the beach and the stunning waters of the Indian Ocean. The Self-catering Apartments are situated in the resort’s garden. Finally, the hotel also offers a massage room, internet facility, a fitness centre, and a small souvenir shop.
The individual rooms of the Acajou Beach Resort are spread across six categories, and offer guests a spacious, comfortable space for their Seychelles holiday. Rustic wooden interiors add to the harmony of the property, and are both sustainably-sourced and aesthetically-pleasing, with a great degree of Creole charm, while the bright, white rooms also have their own charming features. The walls of the property are lined with paintings by locally-renowned artists, which adds to the beautiful atmosphere. In terms of modern facilities, the rooms offer air-conditioning with its own energy-management system, satellite TV, free WiFi, en suite bathroom with shower, WC and hair dryer, a minibar, a safe, and much more. And, as part of the hotel’s ongoing efforts to remain green, the recent renovation included the installation of a solar array, which powers the lights and the air-conditioning units of the hotel. The resort also has its own sewage treatment plant, where old water is recycled and used to water the plants in the garden.
Guests have a choice between different room types for their Seychelles accommodation: Standard, Superior, and Deluxe rooms. There are also six rooms which are set up for self-catering, giving guests even more choice, and the Superior Family Rooms are even big enough for up to four guests to enjoy an unforgettable holiday. The hotel’s own Le Boucanier restaurant is located in the main building, and provides a space for guests to enjoy come the evening, where they can sample international cuisine without having to leave the hotel. This is also the place where the delicious breakfast is served. Several times each week, there is entertainment provided by local groups, something that shouldn’t be missed by anyone. The beach restaurant is also located right on the water, with a breathtaking view of the Cote d’Or beach.
The villas of the hotel are surrounded by a lush garden, where guests can hear nothing but the ocean waves and the wind through the palm trees. There are frangipani, hibiscus, and takamaka trees located in the garden. In the middle of all this vegetation, there is a pool, surrounded by a large terrace, a pool bar, and the restaurant. Guests can also relax on the sun-terrace underneath blue skies, leaving all of the stress of daily-life behind. Depending on the time of day, there is also plenty of natural shade here, which provides protection from the UV rays of the sun, and there are also artificial parasols. At the pool bar, guests can enjoy a delicious cool drink.
Even more inviting is the nearby Cote d’Or beach, which is almost always empty, regardless of the time of year. Here, it’s possible to find your own spot on the beach, either completely under shade or partially-shaded, allowing you to relax without staying in the sun too long. There are also a number of sun-loungers and parasols here. The beach slopes very gently into the ocean, and there is fine sand underfoot, making it a year-round possibility to swim here, something that doesn’t ring true for all of Praslin’s beaches.
Finally, we would recommend visiting the stunning Vallée de Mai on Praslin, which is the largest intact forest containing the Coco de Mer palm tree. People used to think that the fruit of the Coco de Mer washed up on the beaches via the ocean, hence the name ‘Coco de Mer’.

Clean, comfort, cordialy staff.
The hotel has a wonderful location. The room has a great view of the sea. The rooms were very good and clean. Very friendly staff. Translation (DE): GoogleTranslate
The hotel Acajou Beach Resort we liked it. The service was very good. The staff was very friendly. Translation (DE): GoogleTranslate
Dream location directly on the kilometer-long beach. The staff was very friendly, the rooms were clean, the buffet in the evening was outstanding. And the bar - especially the Acajou Mule cocktail - were great! We felt very comfortable. Translation (DE): GoogleTranslate
Great hotel on the most beautiful beach on the island! Our son got fever in the evening due to a middle ear infection. The staff organized a private driver who looked after us and was also in the hospital. The whole endeavor took less than an hour, in the middle of the night. The child was taken care of and the inflammation quickly banned. Good food, good service and very courteous staff! Translation (DE): GoogleTranslate
Hotel Acajou in Praslin very good with large and varied cuisine, very friendly and helpful staff. Translation (IT): GoogleTranslate
We liked the area very much. The room was clean, big and everything worked great. I would not describe the hotel as getting old, which I have read here occasionally due to the timber construction. This just fits in with the hotel and was appreciated by us as very nice. The staff was super friendly and always spoke to you by name. Delicious buffet. Dream beach directly at the hotel. There were always enough beach chairs available. Over the beach or the street you are in ten minutes in Cote D'or where you can find a few restaurants and bars. Prices in the hotel as usual covered. Beer barely 5 €, cocktail 11/12 €. Translation (DE): GoogleTranslate
Absolute dream beach - unique !! Lonely beach and great turquoise sea - always back to this beach! Hotel was very nice, a lot of friendly staff, great service in the restaurant, food was good to very good (at La Digue Island Lodge it was a bit better, it was perfect!) Rooms were very clean and nice, had the deluxe room and the children the superior room. Maybe the only small criticism: the bath / shower could be renovated again in the deluxe room. Translation (DE): GoogleTranslate
The resort is clean and well maintained. The staff is friendly and helpful. The journey from Praslin airport to the resort is short. Translation (DE): GoogleTranslate
Cleanliness: 5 star Location: Beautiful beach, great with kids, one of our favorites. Would return to the Cote d Or! 5 stars Reliability Reception / Helpfulness: 5 Stars Friendliness of the manager: 5 stars, the feeling of being at home somehow. Friendliness of the staff: 4 star food: breakfast ok, dinner buffet good but almost every day almost the same under a different name (eg Italian dinner, BBQ, etc.) could be a bit boring for guests who are in-house every day after two days. (3 stars) Translation (DE): GoogleTranslate
Dream beach, outstanding service in the hotel. Translation (DE): GoogleTranslate
Nice rooms, garden, restaurant, beach with beach chairs, pool. And it was also nice that we could connect our two rooms. Friendly, helpful staff. Great bbq-buffet. When next time on Praslin we would come here again.
Located directly on the long white sandy beach, this relatively small hotel offers a very personal and above all friendly service. One knows the staff after two days by name, knows about special wishes of the younger guests and cares unobtrusively for the well-being of the guests. The rooms are (all with sea view) in dark wood, clean and spacious (yes, the walls are too thin-you can hear the neighbors-this did not really bother us and would complain at the highest level). The beach, however, is simply the blast: Who would have thought, here should be masses of bathers, will be seriously disappointed! No matter when, you have this beach almost to yourself! It's incredible ! Finally, there are smaller snacks at the pool, in the main building with an open dining room in a sophisticated atmosphere for a varied buffet (finally I know that the bat is not quite my case ..) with really delicious food. Translation (DE): GoogleTranslate
Very nice staff, hotel just as we expected. Great location on a great beach. Translation (DE): GoogleTranslate
Great hotel, where you can feel comfortable and relax. Very good service. The beach at the hotel also has free beach chairs and umbrellas, the number of which initially seems a bit low, but always sufficient. The beach is well maintained and suitable for swimming with children. The hotel is located just outside the village. If you want to go in the evening on foot in the village (about 15 minutes) should have a flashlight to be seen. 2 dive centers in town. We were very pleased with the White Tip Divers. Translation (DE): GoogleTranslate
The staff in the hotel was very friendly and attentive. Location and beach just incredibly quiet and nice. We had only booked with breakfast to get to know the food of the locals, which we highly recommend. The hotel area itself is really very nicely laid out. However, our room would have a few minor flaws that would have to be fixed permanently. Some sockets do not work, dim lighting in the bathroom, new paint as mild foxing could be seen, air conditioning would need to be cleaned. But these are really no shortcomings that have greatly disturbed ... we would definitely visit the hotel again. Thanks Acajou :) Translation (DE): GoogleTranslate
We recommend. Translation (DE): GoogleTranslate
This evaluation mainly concerns the rooms Translation (IT): GoogleTranslate
Like in paradise !!!!!!!! Perfectly. Can highly recommend this resort. Except the sand fleas or flies in the sand. but the hotel can not do that. We also gave advice on how to handle the stitches or bites. Staff in all areas 1a, very helpful and accommodating. Would definitely stay in this hotel again. Translation (DE): GoogleTranslate
Highly recommended, nice, well run hotel in a great location. Very friendly staff, nice very clean rooms, dream beach and good food. Translation (DE): GoogleTranslate
A very pleasant hotel with a very good kitchen. We had a deluxe room just behind the wonderful, at this point relatively wide beach. The free beach chairs on the beach and the beach or pool towels were of the best quality. The staff was extremely friendly and accommodating, the four-course dinner menu of the half board was very varied and extremely tasty. Kudos to the kitchen. Alternatives because of my husband's lactose allergy were easily made possible and partly already planned without special request on our part. The location of the hotel is very convenient, you get everywhere pretty good and is also in a few minutes drive to the pier. The hotel has a beautiful garden, but we could not really appreciate the metal artworks on it. That was more like a smile. We really enjoyed our stay at Hotel Acajou and would highly recommend it. Translation (DE): GoogleTranslate
One of the bigger but really fantastic hotel on Praslin at direct dream beach location. 10 min walk along the beach to the nearest restaurants & local supermarkets. The service in the hotel on Topplevel, especially to emphasize is the cleanliness of the rooms, plenty of choice at the breakfast, by the way also suitable for allergy sufferers! Beach bar with delicious local but also international cocktails. Every evening a different theme buffet, mostly accompanied by live music. We'll be back for sure :-) Translation (DE): GoogleTranslate
Friendly service, clean, very nicely decorated in dark, African tropical wood large room, a nice lodge atmosphere, well maintained and new, renovated stand. Open restaurant, meals in buffet style, evenings à la carte, enough choice, nice presented and of good quality. Entire complex directly adjoining the long Cote D'Or beach, tropical garden plot with many flowering plants, beautiful pool overlooking the sea. Very quiet, in the middle of nature, small town within walking distance. Enough beach chairs, pool towels incl. Translation (DE): GoogleTranslate
Great resort, even for the beautiful location of the room, overlooking the ocean. Excellent cleanliness and great service Translation (IT): GoogleTranslate
Beach, like in paradise Translation (DE): GoogleTranslate
Very organized and professional! with beach, pool, restaurant and bus available! Translation (FR): GoogleTranslate
Unbelievable great hotel with dream beach and hotel's beach chairs and umbrellas; Breakfast buffet was great (plentiful and delicious), without exception, all the staff (from the maid on the cook to the ladies and gentlemen at the front desk) are incredibly friendly, courteous and helpful, our room and the balcony were huge and lovingly decorated daily (honeymoon) ; also the dinner buffet is to be recommended, great selection and really delicious - but also relatively expensive; Other restaurants are within a 15-20 minute walk - either over the beach or the relatively busy and busy street - flashlight highly recommended! Translation (DE): GoogleTranslate
Staff at the breakfast table were rude. Rooms were not cleaned properly. Kitchen staff super friendly (birthday cake). Very warm welcome and explanations. Great location. ! Loud air conditioning! Cooling system under the rooms. Translation (DE): GoogleTranslate
Wonderful resort Translation (IT): GoogleTranslate
Beautiful structure, the family room is super spacious. Great cleaning in the rooms. Mediocre food but there is not much else in the area. I would stay there again. Translation (IT): GoogleTranslate
a bit impersonal but professional beach gorgeous, rooms according to the standard of the hotel, but with super sea view Translation (DE): GoogleTranslate
We spent four nights in the Acajou. The reception was very professional and friendly. We were given refreshment drinks and were escorted by the staff to our room, which was right on the beach. The room was very clean, with a smart air conditioning that shuts off as soon as the patio door is opened. The beach was only a jump from the terrace, where also beach chairs and a service are available. The bathroom has two showers. In the hall was a kettle available, as well as tea and coffee. The poolside bar serves snacks and refreshments, and the restaurant offers a first-rate breakfast buffet and dinner. The staff was competent with special respect for privacy. The reception was always very helpful, organized taxis and bicycles for us. The hotel is quietly located just outside the town of Cote d'Or. The best way to walk along the beach, about 10 minutes to the center. A fancy hotel with great service. Translation (DE): GoogleTranslate
Transfer worked well, nice hotel, large room, huge balcony, great bathroom. Staff from the front desk to the cleaning staff friendly and helpful. The accommodation was always scrupulously clean, towels were changed daily. The pool left something to be desired, water was murky and smelled a bit severe. There was hardly anything going on at the pool bar, probably because of the enormously high prices and no entertainment. Translation (DE): GoogleTranslate
Reception has taken care of all requests. Translation (DE): GoogleTranslate
This hotel is fantastically located. Right on the beach with a magnificent garden. The design of the houses with the individual rooms, everything in the colonial style with wood, we really liked. The breakfast was average, but adequate. On the day of arrival we had dinner at the hotel (Creole & Seafood BBQ osä.). With 500 rupees (about € 30.00 / pp) we found it quite expensive. But what we were offered was far below average. To emphasize was only the seafood BBQ, which was really delicious. The rest around it was rather unspectacular. Furthermore, we found it very strange that the "band" for the musical background rather the usual "world hits" has chosen, instead of selecting local music. "Let it be" by the Beatles or Edith Piaf we found rather suboptimal. For this reason, we made our way to the "village" every evening and had a fantastic and cheaper meal. That was great!!! Finally, we would like to mention negatively that we were denied a late check-out in a rather unprofessional way. But we were held out for two days. This meant in our case that we were 6,50 hours "homeless". And the room where we could freshen up before we left was a joke. A house with such a high standard probably has other possibilities to offer its guests something. Especially since this part of the trip was the most expensive! We know that differently from 4-star hotels. Has clouded our overall impression. Pity! Translation (DE): GoogleTranslate
Nice complex on a beautiful beach, luckily with a little infrastructure in walking distance as ice cream parlor and restaurants. Translation (DE): GoogleTranslate
