Description:

Anse aux Poules Bleues is a quiet, calm bay in the south-west of Mahé, just along the coast from the large, sweeping Anse à la Mouche. With shallow water and a quiet atmosphere, there are some reasons to visit this little beach, however the reality is that there are very few visitors to Anse aux Poules Bleues, especially due to its proximity to the more popular Anse à la Mouche and Anse Soleil. Getting to the beach is quite simple thanks to the nearby bus stop, as well as limited parking spaces near the beach. There are also some guesthouses within walking distance, so guests looking for a quiet location for a seaside walk or a quick dip in the ocean can certainly find this at Anse aux Poules Bleues. The beach itself is nice enough, but there are more appealing options nearby. The best thing about the bay is its calm, tranquil atmosphere, thanks in part to its relative lack of visitors. The water is shallow and safe for swimming, however the seabed can be a little muddy, especially compared to other beaches on the island. Nearby, there is the Michael Adams Art Studio and some shops, and there are also some restaurants to be found at Anse à la Mouche, along the coast. Not the most popular beach by any stretch of the imagination, Anse aux Poules Bleues nevertheless offers enough to encourage a visit, including shallow, calm water, shade from the sun thanks to the trees that line the beach, and easy-access by bus or car. With a nearby art studio, and restaurants along the coast, perhaps this smallish bay is best-included in a day trip to the area in general.
